other artist,but when he creates with pride

beautiful images of African Americans or

relates the unique experiences of his

people, no one can claim to be a greater

authority.

              It is not a mimic, but the genuine,

heartfelt expressions though art of people

in a nation united in a struggle to be seen

and heard on their own terms...
